A fun way to waste some time...or waste a lot of time, I guess. And money.
What I enjoyed most:
1. Defined Personalities
Some games, you feel like you are interacting with the same guy over and over, maybe with some slight personality differences. If I think of a scenario in my mind, I can easily imagine the reactions Riki, Kenshi, Takuto, Hiro, and Boss would have and their comebacks would be unique (and each retort would make me smile, I absolutely love their different personalities). I felt the deep friendship and fun camaraderie between the guys are more developed than in most Voltage games (followed closely by My Forged Wedding and Dreamy Days in Tokyo).
2. Vivid Coloring (eye, hair, and clothing syles)
I liked the varied coloring more on this game than My Body Guard, Revenge, Office Secrets, In Your Arms Tonight, and My Two Bedroom Story. I love those story lines, however I'm just referring to the images. The Thief X cg's are just the ones I find myself using as screen savers the most. The artists did a fantastic job coordinating eye, hair, and clothing. The pose chosen for each cg and emotions that can be read in the character's eyes are superb, imo.
Con: MC needs more personality or capabilities
Only thing I wish differently is for the MC to amaze her guy in return once in awhile. She is in the way at times and is more of an observer. She is warned to "stay by my side" or to "not get in the way" often. The MC is an emotional and physical support to her guy, but not much more than that. Most of us would love to be rescued and looked after so completely, but it wouldn't hurt to drop the guy's jaw with a tremendous skill or by using her brain a bit more. She needs to be capable of keeping up with the guys, pulling her own weight. The MC in Minato's story from My Two Bedroom Story would have been AMAZING in Thief X. She's tough, doesn't give up, and speaks up. She knows how to joke around. I could see her being an asset to the Black Foxes.
