i think it's a courtesy thing since they seem so big about it over there. it's just polite for strangers and acquaintances or friends that aren't all that close? calling people by their first name is if you are very very good friends with them or you have a very close relationships.

i went no where near mcdonalds while in japan lol i did stop at a japanese burger place and it wasn't too expensive for a meal~ maybe $5-6 USD? i don't really remember.

I bought this bento meal at some random convenience store.


The cake didn't taste sweet enough but the mug was so cute!  


This karaage tasted like heaven! When I took this picture, the owner panicked and asked me what I was doing. With my n00b Nihongo, I told her that I take pictures of delicious food, which is true   With this meal, I am full for the rest of the day!


I can't remember the price of McDonald's, sorry  


Outside my rented apartment, it was soooo cold since we never get winter


I was actually tempted to get those manga but I don't know how to ride a bike (until now) and I don't want to be late for work

@joanie Omg I miss convenience stores in Japan so much~~~ lol more than anything else I think. Well that and the hot springs.   Haha just looking at your bento made my stomach growl~~ you worked in Japan?

I actually have some older pictures of when I first went to Japan. I was traveling with some people that knew people in the anime industry, mangakas and directors and what not and so we got to hangout with them. That trip was amazing!

@kokoro-cafe: I was assigned to the client from my old company for a couple of months   I used to buy onigiri from konbini everyday for my breakfast. When I get the chance to visit my colleague in their apaato in the evening, there was a stand selling takoyaki and it was so yummy!    I hope to see your older pictures! Your trip is really amazing because you got the chance to meet mangakas & directors
