Yayyy, a CG! But, blah. It's one of those main CGs that takes no effort to come across. As for the Friendship Level, it really caters towards people who greet a lot or had others input their Invite IDs. Since I have 410 Friendship, it just went by. But it's not all that bad for other people. For now.

Kazemasa's is correct except for chapter 2.. 'I can walk by myself' comes after 'It's a gut feeling'! :)
Oh yeah and I think it requires 1 pass before chap 3..cant really remember which part was it >.<

The first answer for chapter 3 is wrong..

I uploaded all of these on my Tumblr for the sake of posting them here... This is for the people who were confused about Checkpoints, but I highly suggest reading through the in-game FAQ, as well. You can only view when these Checkpoints happen, if you have at least 1 Energy. They happen between scenes.

There are four types of Checkpoints: Pass, Friendship Level, Enemy Appearance, and Minigame.

Pass Checkpoints
These require a certain number of Passes to proceed in the story. If you have played Ninja Love for GREE, this system is the same. Thankfully, this game does not require anywhere near the total number of Passes NL did.

Friendship Level Checkpoints
These require a certain amount of Friendship Level to proceed in the story. You can raise your Friendship Level by using Zeni or DNC to buy avatar items or food for your ninja's animal partner from the Shop, or by using DNC in the Lottery. You will also receive avatar items, if at least 3 other players input your game Invitation ID. There is an optional Friendship Level requirement to view the Hidden Love Ending, if you happen to fall in the green zone and proceed to the Lovesick Ending.

Enemy Appearance Checkpoints
Based on the silhouette, there are at least four different enemies. It is easy to guess who they are, especially if you read the character profiles. However, this does not mean that every enemy will appear in a storyline during a Checkpoint. Anyway, you can actually lose during this Checkpoint, since there is only a stated percent chance of winning. Using items or Energy can increase your chances of succeeding. In this specific Checkpoint, you can bring 1 or more people from your team to help you battle. Reinforcements are used to increase the possible number of teammates you can bring. You are not required to bring anyone or use any items, though. If you do bring someone, she or he will receive 5 Romance EXP per battle. I do not know if a member's individual Level helps in any way.

Minigame Checkpoints
As with the Enemy Appearance Checkpoint, you only have a percent chance of winning the Minigame Checkpoint. This is a roulette, where landing on the star means that you failed. Landing on the heart means that you have succeeded. You can also use the items shown above to increase your chances of winning. Only during Minigame Checkpoints does the Bow and Arrow give a 100% Success Rate, so I recommend using it, if your chances of winning are dismal.

Even if you use many items or bring many Reinforcements to increase your success, if there exists the possibility to lose, you can still fail and waste all of your used items and energy. As a meager compensation, losing during either the Enemy Appearance or Minigame Checkpoint gives certain bonuses.

Wow, this game is great.  I got 7 passes just for logging in 2 times!  Make sure to check out the task list if you haven't, you can get a lot of rewards by doing them :D

yea... thats how ninja love started out to and look what happened to it...  :umr

What happened with Ninja Love? ( I own the paid version of the game, so I never even tried Ninja Love, so I don't really know how their version of GREE works.

Long story short they gave away a bunch of items in the beginning like rice cakes and they didn't require a lot of passports to pass each checkpoint and then as time went on you got almost nothing and they increased the number of passports and the frequency they required passports to the point it was pretty much unplayable. Or at the very least incredibly frustrating to play. But it was so pointless to pay for the passports because it was cheaper to buy the full game than to play the GREE version.

I used two shuriken to increase my roulette win chances to 80% and I STILL LOST. Why is my luck always so baaaaaadd?!

Hnnng. But, now that I think of it, I should add more information to the Checkpoints with chance involved. Also, the actual number requirement for the Friendship Level should be omitted the walkthrough, since moving onto other routes will undoubtedly lead to needing more and more Friendship.

@Aiwethryne friendship level is a combined number of all of the pets? not just one?
